Posted on 06/01/2020

This is a difficult time for all of us as we navigate our way through the coronavirus. From our family at West Gate Dental, we certainly hope that you and your family stay healthy as we get through this crisis together. As we learn more about COVID-19, we will be providing you with information about how it may impact your dental care and our office procedures.

West Gate Dental Always Maintains the Highest Standards for Patient Safety

In recent months, the media, all industries of business, and people, in general, have been putting extra emphasis on the importance of precautionary cleanliness and health safeguarding measures. It is important to remember that our Lincoln, NE, office has always followed all requirements from the American Dental Association (ADA), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA) to protect our patients’ health.

Your safety is important to us every day and always has been! In terms of patient care, our professional and experienced team members wear protective gear, including gowns, masks, eye protection, and gloves to ensure your safety. Our West Gate Dental facility strictly adheres to OSHA’s requirements to maintain a sanitary environment during the workday. Below is a list of our enhanced safety protocols:

  1. We are disinfecting all common areas such as our front door handles, waiting room chairs, check out areas, and restroom multiple times per day.
  2. Each patient is sanitizing their hands upon entry to the office.
  3. We are recording the temperatures and any symptoms of every staff member each morning and every patient each appointment.
  4. We are using prescreening questionnaires to make decisions with scheduling treatment.
  5. Our treatment rooms have always been disinfected between each patient and will continue to be.
  6. Our instruments have always been sterilized between each patient and will continue to be.
  7. Our face shields and your safety glasses are disinfected between each patient, so if they seem streaked, it's only because our disinfectant does not leave them as clear as a window cleaner. Rest assured, they are clean.
  8. Each of our treatment rooms now contains a Molekule air sanitizer to clean the air in the room.
  9. We will be staggering patients in the check out area. Please be patient if your appointment takes a bit longer than usual. Every procedure we are following is to keep our patients safe and healthy, but sometimes we may need a few extra minutes to accomplish the tasks.
  10. We are seeing fewer patients per day and alternating our treatment rooms as much as possible.
  11. If you have questions, please ask any team member. You and your general/ dental health are extremely important to us!
